The Echoforms collection captures the harmony of ancient and modern aesthetics, blending totemic shapes with geometric precision. Each sculpture features textured surfaces, earthy hues, and layered voids that evoke echoes of Brutalist architecture and primitive artistry.

The Monument series is the result of two converging influences, an interest in architecture and the built environment and a love of science fiction. The vessels are constructed using a slab building technique. The clay body has been fired and is usually left unglazed to enhance the vessel's texture and to illuminate its material quality. The vessels are glazed on the inside to maintain a level of functionality.

This body of work sees the introduction of rhythmic, organic elements that become motifs that appear in contrast to the overall static, monolithic forms but result in overall playful quality.

This collection explores form and void, inspired by Brutalist and mid-century architecture. The sculptures balance geometric shapes with open spaces, creating a play of light and shadow. Natural clay tones and contrasting glazes reflect timeless design influenced by Constructivist art.

This collection of vessels is best understood as a series of functional sculptures. The vessels are inspired by the built environment, more specifically the Brutalist style of architecture. Brut is a French word that translates in English as raw. The monolithic, almost static appearance of Brutalist buildings with their limited use of materials (predominately concrete), remains an ongoing preoccupation.

By leaving the exterior surfaces unglazed, the materiality of the clay body is celebrated which ultimately provides for a greater emphasis on the overall geometric forms.

The series of wall mounted sculptures continue the exploration of themes originally developed in the Brut series of work. The sculptures are constructed using a slab building technique that are finished by brushing on dry, matt glazes. Once completed, the combination of the slab construction and the painterly texture of the glazes results in bold geometric forms that invoke a materiality commonly associated with concrete. The sculptures are stand alone wall mounted pieces that can also be reimagined as either a vase or planter.

The Flowforms collection blends organic curves with architectural precision, inspired by mid-century modernism and biomorphic design. These sculptures explore movement, balance, and natural forms, making them ideal for modern and minimalist interiors. With textured surfaces and undulating profiles.

These vessels were designed with Ikebana, the traditional Japanese art of flower arranging in mind with an emphasis on the principles of balance and harmony executed through simplicity of form. It was envisaged these vessels would only be complete once they held flowers and other organic elements to achieve a balance of composition.

The vessels are constructed using a slab building technique with the raw clay body exposing the exterior and only the inside glazed to maintain their functionality. On occasion, glazes have been used on the exterior to enhance the organic quality of a vessel.

This collection of vessels was constructed using a coil hand building technique. This method of construction has been used to shape clay into vessels for thousands of years by different cultures. The coil hand building technique for me was a momentary change in stylistic direction where I explored more traditional large organic forms.

I constructed the vessels at the end of 2019 and completed the graphic elements during lockdown in 2020. Given the restricted access to my studio at this time, the circumstances allowed me to take time out and utilise my experience as a graphic designer to decorate the vessels with more bold graphic elements using a hand painted black underglaze.
